We are committed through innovation to ensure that future generations can enjoy the same quality of life as we enjoy. Gibson Printing believes that sustainability is very important and we’re always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint.

Reducing print waste

Some printing companies won’t make green printing choices in sourcing paper and ink or the type of equipment they use. We use vegetable based inks and environmentally friendly toners.

Using a digital press lessens CO2 emissions, energy consumption and paper waste compared with a conventional press. Internally, we have made a choice to recycle our waste paper and to print on recycled papers.

The benefits of sustainable printed products

Improved brand image

Consumers often take into account a company’s impact on the environment. At Gibson Printing, we support our community of Markham, Ontario in many ways. One of them is the decision to improve our sustainability. Being environmentally friendly is a way we strive to actively support the town we’ve been operating in since 1916. Other companies are slowly realizing the tremendous improvement of brand awareness that can be unlocked by simply “doing good”.

Gibson Printing: an eco-friendly company

Our warehouse lighting uses durable LED technology for up to 80% less power consumption and 8 years (and counting) of no bulbs going to landfill.

For those of you wondering if paper is eco-friendly, we, at Gibson, view paper as a great biodegradable, renewable and sustainable product. Working forests are good for the environment and provide clean air, clean water and wildlife habitat. Growing and harvesting trees provides jobs for millions of people here in Canada and throughout North America.
